Abstract: This paper discusses an online information service for the delivery of federal, state and university research data to the public. The information processing unit collects research data, manipulates the information for an appropriate display, and organizes and structures the data for use by various audiences. The computer and telecommunications facilities include a statewide X.25 network, minicomputers in distributed nodes, networked microcomputers, and a supercomputer.
