Abstract: Global ekonomideki temel yönelimleri analiz etmek üzere mekansal unsurları inceleyen ve yatay-kesit bir çekim modeli ile 49 ülkenin verilerini kullanan bu çalışma, GSMH ile uzaklık, sınırdaşlık ve aynı bölgede bulunma gibi birtakım mekansal unsurların, bölgesel ticaret blokları oluşumuna anlamlı bir açıklama sağladığını göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte, bölgeselleşme eğilimleri için ampirik desteğine rağmen analizimizin, küreselleşme lehine ipuçları da içerdiğini belirtmeliyiz.
