Abstract: Purpose: We live in the knowledge age, a new era which is likely to have a radically different outlook and entail a new business compass to traverse. The world is changing fast which is crucial to the success of firms in the rapidly changing setting of the knowledge era. Success in today’s global, interconnected economy springs from the fast efficient exchange of information. Methodology: The development and practice of Knowledge Management (KM) is continuously and dramatically increasing in organizations. The current study examines that nature of the relationship between various variables of knowledge management in management studies departments in colleges at Tiruchirappalli district, Tamilnadu. The study with an aim of providing a unified framework for understanding the above-mentioned knowledge-based concepts relate to each other. Findings: The embryonic acquaintance knowledge management practices in management education considered three dimensions: (1) Knowledge Gathering (2) Knowledge Creation and (3) Knowledge Diffusion. In the light of the importance of KM in organizations, particularly in continuously changing scenario, we seek how KM practices are relevant in the context of management education institutions. Here it is an attempt to examine the factors affecting KM. Recommendations: Policy recommendations have been suggested.
