Abstract:
Our profession has achieved success and recognition, but we are reaching a midlife crisis of stagnation and introspection. We have an opportunity for a new beginning, a revival of the spirit of discovery that characterized the early days of OR. Winning is no longer enough; we need to reexamine the rules of the contest.
