Abstract: This article provides a discussion of a computerized system developed by the author to assist the Naval Air Test Center Test Pilot School in their daily personnel and aircraft scheduling and data management efforts. The system is an interactive software package which utilizes heuristic programming and assignment techniques to provide a computer generated, satisficing aircraft and personnel resource assignment profile (flight schedule). This system is currently in use by the Operations Department of the Test Pilot School, with demonstrated manpower savings and reductions in currency losses in addition to potential improvements in Test Pilot School training program progress.
