Abstract:
For Operations Researchers and Management Scientists to really make a difference in the way the world and its parts are managed, executives at every hierarchical level must be aware of what these decision sciences offer. We can learn by example, and the six 1980 CPMS prize-winning papers afford powerful examples of successful methods and attitudes whose combined value must be reckoned in billions of dollars.
