An Information System for Allocating Coach Stock on Indian Railways

Abstract: A computerized information system for coach stock has been designed and developed for the zonal railway subsystem of Western Railway in India at the Computer Center, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. The system can be used to study the coach utilization for any zonal railway, or for Indian Railways as a whole with some minor modifications.
