Abstract:
Strategic planning has experienced an extraordinary evolution in recent years. It is a central concern for practicing managers who are confronted, particularly in the last decade, with a turbulent and complex environment. Intensive global competition, social militance, energy problems, persistent inflation, high interest rates, technological breakthroughs, and government regulations are all problems managers confront in establishing a long term defensible position against their competitors. This is the essence of strategic planning.
