Abstract: The real author wrote this paper under the pseudonym Jean-Baptiste Leon Say.“Turnaround managers” specialize in re-organizing faltering companies. Sometimes, consultants are asked to do a “turn-around” job on projects that are in trouble. The trick is to improve the situation as much as possible while upsetting as few people as possible. It requires the faith of the princess in the old fable who kissed a toad and turned it into a prince.
