Abstract: In order to evaluate and design a new course offering at the University of Southern California, a study was conducted to derive importance measures for alternative course attributes and also to determine the specific design for a course possessing optimal attributes given student preferences. Using a new product evaluation and design approach involving the application of conjoint analysis, useful information was provided for course planning at the University.
