Abstract: A survey of nonacademic users of computer simulation explored such issues as interest in simulation as a method of analysis, the functional areas which use simulation, the departments where simulation models are developed, the method of selecting a programming language for coding a simulation model, the popularity of various programming languages for simulation applications, and problems associated with the application of simulation. Current practices for measuring the effectiveness and suggestions for improving the use of simulation are discussed.
