Abstract:
Although management scientists employ a range of techniques to assist their clients, they rarely take the same explicit “scientific” interest in their own problems of carrying out management science consultancy. Yet managing internal political pressures, personal relationships with clients, and power structures is complex and crucial to success. We explore when and why reflection and analysis can improve MS practice and offer some ideas about appropriate techniques.
