Abstract: Visual interactive modeling principles and modeling by example offer concrete guidelines for developing user-centered DSS generators that exploit the advantages of visual modeling while supplying active decision support through proper integration of AI techniques. Human-computer interaction remains a central issue, suggesting further research to realize a high level of human-machine cooperation in problem solving and decision making.
