Abstract:
To be successful as MS/OR professional we need the skill to enable us to work effectively with people individually and in groups. Many who were technically trained find it difficult to acquire these skills. Why? First, such skills are less concrete than our technical skills. Second, we typically do not know where to go to learn them. Third, learning them will take us out of the comfort zone. A perspective on the skills that are critical for success of MS/OR practitioners in dealing with people is offered.
