Abstract:
A total quality-control project for a farm equipment manufacturing company (Hay and Forage Industries) included the analysis, design, implementation, and personnel training for a system to manage quality-control process. Unlike conventional applications of statistical quality-control systems, which usually involve only a company's quality-control department, this system cuts across all organizational levels and affects every department in the company. The system can store, categorize, and analyze measured data about quality characteristics of hundreds of parts.
