Abstract: Managers and management scientists currently have an opportunity to influence the direction of applied behavioral science. The reason is that a rapid shift is occurring in the places where industrial-organizational psychologists are being trained. In the past, most of them received their doctoral educations completely in departments of psychology. But in the near future, according to data furnished by Campbell (Campbell, J. P. 1971. Psychology in business schools. Professional Psych. 1 6--11.), a majority will be educated in the business schools.
