Abstract: This special issue of the INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics (formerly Interfaces ) is devoted to the finalists of the 49th annual competition for the Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research, and Management Science, the profession’s most prestigious award for deployed work. As in previous years, the finalists this year cover a wide range of industries and functions.
