Abstract:
Conversations and letters during the first few months of my tenure as editor of Interfaces show me that many people don't seem to know what my editorial position might be. I have assumed that anyone who didn't know by now what my position was has either: (a) Recently returned from a five year sojurn to Kafiristan, bringing stochastic programming to the Borzubi tribesmen, or (b) Doesn't read Interfaces , or (c) Has never caught one of my subtle attacks on theory-masquerading as practice at TIMS/ORSA/AIDS/APICS/ASQC/AIIE/ACM meetings. For these sins of omission and remission, I can only breathe a hearty Mea Culpa and take this chance to lay this question to rest.
