Abstract:
It is fashionable today to question the real impact of management science in our business, industrial, social structure. Much time and space are devoted to concern about achieving implementation. Rightly so. The real question is how to accomplish this. I submit that every such situation contains a key element, generally hidden, frequently elusive, sometimes almost impossible to find with reasonable time, effort and budget. Nevertheless it is there, and those management scientists who have learned to ferret out the true underlying considerations in any situation are bound to have success stories to tell.
