Information Systems in Management Science---The Decision to Inquire

Abstract: I have proposed an approach where the agents of an MIS are modeled by the players of a mathematical game, and where the value of information is computed by developing the optimum strategy within the game theoretical framework. In this column I present a few simple examples to clarify the nature of the proposed calculus of information.
