Abstract:
The process of validation is important, as indicated in the two real cases cited earlier. Management must be convinced of the integrity and accuracy of the work performed. It is equally important to provide the management scientist with an impetus for producing a model which accurately reflects the real world situation. All of this should help make Ben Harris, the tough practical boss described in our opening story, feel confident with the results which our model provides.
