Abstract: This article describes the linkage of microdata stemming from two business surveys: “Information and Communication Technologies” and “Community Innovation Survey”.The complex and multiple relations between the use of technology, enterprise innovation patterns and economic performances are topics of increasing importance in the empirical literature on innovation. However, bidirectional relationships and causality issues can be addressed in a comprehensive manner only by integrating microdata. In the present paper, three integrating strategies tested on 2008 survey and the related results are illustrated. The use of methodologies for record linkage in this context constitutes an innovative test, also in the light of the comparison with other integration methods.
