Economy & Business Journal, 2014, vol. 8, issue 1, 1220-1230
Abstract:
This article presents research conclusions on the properties and role of precious metals from the perspectives of Czech, Hungarian and Polish investors. BUX, PX-GLOBE and WIG20 indices were used to represent the market. The analysis covers the years 2007-2013 which were divided into the phases of decline, growth and relative stability, depending on how stock indices performed. Gold, silver, platinum and palladium were assigned the role of a safe haven, a diversifier and a hedge.
