Abstract:
The importance of the mining activities, the driving force of industrialization has been realized every passing day. Mining products have been using functionally within energy, agriculture and manufacturing as inputs in daily life and they also symbolize countries economic power. Turkey is a fortunate country in terms of natural stone activities and marble reserve compare with other countries. Nevertheless, having redundant reserve, their participating effectively and productively in economic activity is also important. Muðla provides positive contributions to the national economy and accelerates the development of the region in terms of marble activities. Therefore, examination of the efficiency and productivity of marble firms, playing an important role in the economy of the province, by year will be directive. In this study, Malmquist TFP change were calculated by using DEA methodology with data, collected from 12 marble firms between the years 2005-2009.
