Abstract:
This study aims at display country and chapter-based changes in Turkey’s foreign trade after customs union and employs concentration analysis, using concentration ratio (CR) and Herfindahl index (H-I) methods. One of the results of the analysis is that there is no change in CR4 ratio comprising the first four countries in Turkey’s import and export. Another result dealing with products is that in exports Turkey passed from low-technology products to middle and high-technology products yet in imports there is no reduction in the share of middle and high-technology products and capital inputs.Consequently, a structural change is observed in export to European Union while any structural change in dependency to European Union in import could not be realized.
