Islamic financing and financial performance of small and middle enterprises

Abstract:
Purpose : This paper aims to analyze to what extent Islamic financing can contribute to the financial performance of SMEs. \n
Method : To meet this objective, we conducted a quantitative survey of 48 SMEs after carrying out an exploratory study of 8 companies which allowed us to better refine the measurement scales of our concepts. \n
Result : It emerges from the regression analysis that Islamic financing through its dimension of Islamic debt level of the company positively influences financial performance. \n
Originality/relevance : go beyond the analysis of the financial structure of companies according to the logic of contingency, bank debts and equity, to focus on other forms of financing in the explanation of the financial performance of companies. This study is an extension of the debate on the financial structure of companies and Islamic finance highlights the role of Islamic financing on the financial performance of SMEs.
