Abstract:
Purpose : The main objective of this article is to analyze the governance relationships between stakeholders of Private Higher Education Establishments (PHEE) in Senegal with a view to making proposals for ideas to improve it. \n Method : To achieve this objective, we adopted a qualitative method as we conducted a multiple case study. We produced four individual interview guides due to one guide per category of actors: management, teachers, PATS and students of each PHEE. Our sample is composed of 10 PHEE. In detail, 41 individuals were surveyed: 12 PER, 16 Students, 6 members of Management and 7 PATS. The duration of the interviews varies between 40 minutes and 1h 15 minutes. We used the method of ascending thematic content analysis for the processing of the data collected. \n \n
\n Results : The results obtained show that the governance of PHEE in Senegal is at the crossroads of enormous problems that are linked to recruitment practices, hierarchical relationships between the different actors, daily management and the exercise of power. \n
\n Originality : The originality of this work lies in the fact that there are few researchers who have studied this theme in the Senegalese context and that improving the quality of governance of PHEE also remains a vast project for the authorities of this country.
