Abstract:
This system provides a Secure File Integrity Audit System complete with an Instant Notification Module that can be used to demonstrate that all digital files stored in Cloud can be safely and securely managed. As individuals and organizations rely on cloud-based storage solutions, it is important that the files that they save and access are safe from unauthorized access, tampering, and other forms of corruption. Therefore, this system provides the ability to securely manage files uploaded to the cloud and verify that they have not been altered or corrupted. When a user uploads a file, a SHA-256 hash value is generated that is unique to that file and acts as a digital fingerprint of that file to verify its integrity before and after use. The hashed values are saved in a secure location and used to determine whether they have been altered or corrupted at the time of file verification by comparing the original hash value with newly generated values at the time of verification. This system utilises a strong authentication mechanism to ensure that only the authorized user has access to the files uploaded to this cloud storage system. The system also incorporates an approval workflow process managed by the administrator, where files that have been uploaded will be reviewed by the administrator prior to being saved permanently. In addition to the above mentioned features, the system includes an instant email notification module to notify the administrators and users about their upload status, verification results and whether the uploaded files have been approved or rejected. Additionally, audit logs of all system activity will be generated to create an accurate record of all activity in the system from uploads to verifications to administrative activity, including when the events occur. These logs provide transparency and accountability in the event forensic analysis is required.
