Abstract: In this paper is applied a threat modeling methodology on a collaborative system. Firstly it will present the current stage of collaborative system security, and then it will be shown how to integrate web services into collaborative platforms. The Threat Modeling methodology is proposed by Microsoft and is a part of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDL). It enables application development team to identify the security threat to a system, evaluate and document those threats and vulnerabilities, determine the risks from those threats, and establish appropriate mitigations. This paper is focused on the web services component. At the end of the paper it will be described the risk mitigation solutions for this collaborative system.
