Kazuma Murakami and Tatsuo Kimbara

Journal of Business Administration Research, 2015, vol. 4, issue 2, 1-8

Abstract: Corporate social responsibility (CSR) requires firms to contribute to the reduction of environmental burden. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between the CSR assessment of firms and the international transfer of environmental management. The data used are obtained from two sources- CSR data from the Toyo Keizai ¡°CSR Company Directory¡± and transfer data from a questionnaire survey we conducted in Vietnam. Our model adopts CSR as an explanatory variable and transfer as an explained variable. The ordinary least squares (OLS) method is used for analysis. From the analysis, it is revealed that CSR assessment is positively related to the transfer of environmental management. Social consciousness for sustainability encourages firm to take action.
