Abstract: The study presents the history of accommodations around the Lake Balaton from the XVIII century to the II World War. After a brief description of the geology of the Lake Balaton, the writers investigate the development of the aquatic, rail and road transport; and their impact on the lake¡¯s tourism, and divided into three sections, provides an overview of the development of lodging of this nearly two-hundred-year period.
