Abstract:
It is true that the real society’s development is neither possible nor desirable by leaving near about 50% of the population in dark and depression. Realizing this virtue Gandhi advocated for the "women empowerment". By supporting women empowerment he writes, he claims that of all the ills that man has caused, none is more heinous, terrible, or vicious than his mistreatment of the better half of humanity—that is, the feminine sex, not the weaker sex. It is the more honourable of the two as it still represents humility, faith, knowledge, sacrifice, and quiet suffering. Objective: The aim of the study is to examine the empowerment of women through education to make New India. Methods: The various materials gathered from the various sources specially census of India have been examined, validated, and methodically arranged. Result and Discussion: For equality, progress, and peace to be achieved, women must be empowered and fully participate in all areas of society on an equal basis. Women of today certainly play a vital role in the development of the society. Man’s natural tendency is to remain happy. For attaining peace, happiness and full fledged satisfaction, we require certain basic steps. One such step is “Women Empowerment†. Women Empowerment through education is considered as the only effective instrument of their capacity building. Conclusion: Education is a milestone for women empowerment because it enables them to respond to opportunities, to challenge their traditional roles and to change their lives. Similar ideas were supported in International Conference-1994. It was said that Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process.
