THE POSITION OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS IN GLOBAL CRISIS

Abstract: In the globalization process, it is discussed on capital turn towards crossborder investments to compensate falling profit rates. In this process, it appears that it has to be realized via the transnational capital investment and transnational corporations. In this study, the impact of the global crisis of 2008 was examined in terms of transnational corporations. In the study results, the globalization crisis reveal different results than previous crises and nation states are insufficient to solve these problems, increased mergers and acquisitions during crisis has let to monopolization and increased inequality between capital and labour. “High interactive transnational corporations†are the most affected companies by crisis. Furthermore, during the global crisis, foreign direct investment from developing countries’ TNCs have increased in comparison to developed countries’ TNCs.
