Abstract: Many management models work on the assumption of a one-dimensional target system that often doesn’t correspond to reality. When several objectives are pursued they are of varying importance as a rule. This paper deals with the decision-theoretical fundamentals of decisions under multiple objectives as well as with methods to determine weighting factors of the pursued objectives; these methods are critically discussed.
