The Effect of Women’s Empowerment Program in the Jordanian Public Sector on Enhancing the Opportunities Of Women to Get Leadership Positions

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to elaborate the ability of Woman to work in the public sector which was adopted by the Ministry of Public Sector Development for the years 2014 -2016 to increase the work opportunities for women and to undertake leading positions. The study assumed the descriptive analytical research methodology in order to obtain its results and the study case reached to a number of results some of which are the limited financial support received to the project, the lack of interest from the governmental departments to strengthen and empower the female workforce in the governmental structure, minimal measures were made to increase women percentages to take on leadership and supervisory positions, lack of community awareness on the importance of woman’s contribution to society which effects negativity on their persistence to continue working at their positions. Based on the summary of results and conclusions a set of recommendations have been listed below to reinforce the objectives and avoid the faults, they are: correctly and accurately define the roles of the concern departments to implement this project fully and to ensure its integration between the entities with no interruptions. And to continue to review the system legislation, policies, plans and programs related to work of woman. More efforts to be made to build positive trends that contribute to portrait a brighter future woman status and their various roles in society.
