Abstract:
In the spring of 1991 the National Science Foundation considered an Initiative in Computational Economics and asked a group of scholars to prepare a report outlining the research opportunities in this field. This article contains the central part of the report which described past contributions and future research opportunities. In addition to the material contained here the report included a section on infrastructure and a section with a proposed budget and some action items.
