Abstract:
Abstract Using cross-country data, the paper examines the influence of women central bank governors (WCBGs) on bank soundness and stability. The evidence appears to suggest that WCBGs are more concerned with stability and less towards soundness. This response differs across advanced and emerging economies. We undertake a wide set of robustness checks and continue to find evidence in support of these findings.
