Abstract:
Abstract This study explores the complex relationship between economic transformation/restructuring and the energy transition within the Chinese context between 2010 and 2020, with the primary motivation being to address China's urgent energy transition challenge. The entropy weight method used in this study yields statistically significant insights, such as China's notable shift toward cleaner energy sources and its dramatic decrease in coal consumption. This study also highlights how economic reforms play a role in the energy transition and in relation to these environmental objectives. This study also highlights the importance of investing in the renewable energy sector and technological innovation. They also show the regional disparities in these movements. These results also suggest a clear set of policy implications, the need to coordinate economic transformations toward sustainable energy with policies aimed at fostering innovation.
