Abstract:
In this study, an attempt is made to analyze the effects of development plans applied in Cyprus since the latter took its independence in 1960. Initially, these development plans concentrated in the agricultural sector which is considered to be the most important both to its contribution to total GDP and total exports. Both descriptive and econometric analyses are used to analyze the results of economic growth through development planning. The results indicate that economic growth through development planning in Cyprus was successful, according to the growth rates of the main indicators such as GDP, exports, productivity, and employment.
