Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this scoping review is to describe studies focusing on policy diffusion to elicit an overall picture of the research in this field. Although various journals have published articles on policy diffusion, the top journals in public policy and public administration have been studied in this article. Out of 2900 cited articles, 52 articles that met the criteria were finally selected. Findings indicate learning and imitation mechanisms in the diffusion process compared to other mechanisms are more attractive. Finally, the areas of need for further study in the field of policy diffusion are suggested.
