Abstract: Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic emerged as a global crisis, presenting complex challenges for nations worldwide. This study examines Iran’s unique experience in combating the pandemic, focusing on the impact of severe economic sanctions on its response. The analysis is structured in three phases: pre-crisis, chaotic decision-making, and evidence-based policymaking. The study highlights the interplay between international sanctions, domestic policy decisions, and public health outcomes in Iran’s COVID-19 response. It also explores the broader implications of economic restrictions on a country’s capacity to address global health crises, emphasizing the need for international cooperation and humanitarian considerations during pandemics.
