Khurasan University Business Administration Journal, 2024

Abstract: This research aims to examine the relationship between project planning and project success, mediating it through the participation of upper management. Using a self-administered survey questionnaire, data have been collected from managers, supervisors, and workers in eastern zone of Afghanistan construction projects. The data set was analyzed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) to provide a descriptive statistic for identifying demographic characteristics, and the model was used to test research hypotheses. According to the results, project planning is vital to the success of any construction endeavor. Planning for the success of a project has been shown to have a direct correlation with upper management support. Important managerial and theoretical implications result from the findings for construction project managers and policymakers.
