Abstract: In this article we assume the hypothesis that although war might be a type of political violence by itself, it is also accompanied by other forms of political violence such as coordinated destruction (for example genocide), violent rituals, and opportunism. In the cases of Rwanda and Kosovo, we see the multiplicity of political violence, namely genocide, massacres, looting, rape etc., in the civil war that devastated both countries. In both cases the civil war is accompanied by not only coordinated destruction, i.e. genocide, but also by other types of political violence such as opportunism, and violent rituals. These examples show us that war as type of political violence consists of other types of violence that are in a complex way. These intertwined types of collective violence also entail very complex relationships and social interactions.Journal: The Journal of European Theoretical and Applied Studies
