Financial Relationships in Japan: An international Perspective

Kenji Kojima

Kobe Economic & Business Review, 1995, vol. 40, 1-42

Abstract: This paper describes major characteristics of Japanese financial relationships in an international perspective. The financial relationships in Japan are examined in comparison with those in Germany and the United States. The primary purpose of the study is threefold: to identify important features of Japanese financial relationships, to provide economic rationale for those relationships, and to develop insights concerning corporate finance and capital market under institutional and regulatory environments.
