Abstract: The coronavirus pandemic represents an unprecedented global crisis. The lockdown has created chaos in markets and societies, showing structural weaknesses and bringing new threats. There is a consensus on the need for urgent and assertive policies that imply the commitment of society as a whole, taking advantage of this phenomenon’s opportunity to create a fairer, more equitable, and more sustainable new normal.Along these lines, civil society organizations can contribute a great deal of value as agents promoting change through good management practices and joint work with the State, companies, and higher education institutions. This essay aims to reflect on this type of organization in the current situation, approaching the effects of the crisis and the challenges of the new context.
