Abstract: The success of organisations is found in the holistic vision that they adopt and the way in which it is integrated into their decision-making process. In this sense, this article summarises an effort that aims to systematise a theoretical model that allows integrating the perspective of sustainability with the approach of business architecture, which has been called sustainable business architecture. The research is of a theoretical nature of the descriptive type, for which a documentary review of specialised bibliography has been carried out, and several concepts have been articulated. It is concluded that it is possible to integrate the concept of sustainable development in all layers of the business architecture; even the IT management layer has already been working with this perspective. It is also envisaged that working with this new term would allow including the perspective of sustainable development to the organisational praxis that could enhance management, for which this first theoretical approach is presented, which should be useful for future research.
