Abstract:
This work investigates the impact which was generated by the COVID-19 pandemic on companies, mainly in financial and indebtedness aspects. Through an exploratory qualitative analysis, in-depth interviews in nine companies in Rafaela and in the region were conducted. They are mostly family industrial SMEs. Their initial situation prior to the pandemic was investigated, to know how COVID-19 impacted on them not only during the strictest restrictions but also, after the pandemic. The analysis shows that the Rafaela ecosystem (and the region) in the companies interviewed, in general, during and after the pandemic, has not suffered negative consequences in the economic and financial aspects. The crisis management as well as the support by means of public assistance policies made it possible for them to cope with the pandemic without difficulties and also, in many cases, to grow.
