Abstract: From the point of view of economic analysis the great French economists prior to the French Revolution: Cantillon, the physiocrats and Turgot, discussed the problems and solutions that would eventually constitute the center point of the work of economists from Adam Smith up to this day. This paper describes not only the subjects buy also the essential features related to the contribution of each one of those great French economists.
