Los bancos de Cartagena, 1874-1925

Abstract: In this article the author describes the new banks established in Cartagena flourishment and decline of private regional banks in Colombia (1872-1925). Using the accounts of one semestral balance of the most important banks, illustration is made of the operations carried out. Furthermore, it is shown how these establishments. Were dominated by the important families in Cartagena dedicated to foreign commerce, especially cattle, exports to Central America and the Caribbean.
