La energía eléctrica, dentro de la estructura tecnológica de la industria antioqueña

Gustavo López and Elkin Castaño

Lecturas de Economía, 1991, issue 34, 111-147

Abstract: This article shows a general overview of the technological structure found in the industrial sector in Antioquia during the period 1975-1987. The analysis assumes a two-level production function. In the first level the inputs used are capital, employment, energy and other raw material. The second level separates energy into electricity and others, using a translogarithmic cost function for each level estimates of direct and crossed price elasticities are obtained, thus. revealing the economic relationships between inputs. When analyzing the results of the direct elasticities are negative, that is capital and energy resources are substitutes, while the only complementarity is found between employment and energy.
